For my birthday in May, my boyfriend and I took a little weekend trip to Miami where we stayed at the Betsy Hotel. It is really just the cutest boutique hotel with very helpful staff and is designed so beautifully! From the complimentary glass Betsy water bottles in the room, to the minimally chic courtyard pool, to the modern rooftop hangout deck, you really get a sense that they really care about the details. Overall, we had an amazing time relaxing on the Betsy's beach and eating and drinking at tons of cool places in the area, and I would definitely recommend staying at this gem of a hotel!
A little Q&A with super cool jewelry designer Eden Philippa:
Q- How did you get started designing jewelry?
A- I did a two year goldsmithing program - after the second year I was in love and completely fascinated! I’ve never once felt like I’ve picked the wrong path.
Q- Where do you get your design inspiration?
A- I’m somewhat utilitarian when I’m designing. I want my pieces to be pretty, but at the same time comfortable, easy-to-wear, everyday accessories.
Q- How did you develop your brand identity is such a large market?
A- It’s a very long process and doesn’t happen overnight. All the people I admire in the industry and brands that I love are much older and have been doing it for much longer. It’s really just about determination and being creative in an over-saturated market.
Q- Who would your dream girl to wear your jewelry be?
A- A girl who appreciates jewellery that is made by hand and not just a ‘fast fashion’ accessory quick fix.
Q- How would you like to see your company evolve in the future?
A- It would be nice to be recognized for my style - a girl can dream, right? I’d also really love to be able to do a bridal line and incorporate more gemstones into the pieces.
Q- If you weren't designing jewelry, what do you imagine your career would be?
A- Oh god, all I know is that it would be a sad existence.

I fell in love with Sofia's candle packaging when I first saw them on Instagram, and even more so when I got one of my own and smelled it! They are an amazing fresh yet not overpowering scent that is just perfect. She grew up in Sweden and now lives in San Francisco where she started SvenskCo Candles, and now is even expanding onto soaps as well. Definitely try out her stuff, which can be ordered here at http://www.svenskco.com!
I love the great little Australian brunch spot Two Hands in NoLita, as much for their menu as for the cute little space and decor. Come for an Acai bowl or full meal, or just grab a coffee, and I definitely recommend the Coffee Milkshake!
In honor of today's huge snowstorm in NYC, here are a few photos I took of the cold streets of SoHo, and the warm comfort of hot tea at Nourish Kitchen + Table on Greenwich St. This is the cutest little place, with great light fixtures, shelving, and kitchen ware. I love when I manage to snag the sunny little window bench, and get my tea to stay just so I can drink it out of the beautiful glass diffuser and teacup.
Aside from just clothing, another of my obsessions is home interiors. I can spend hours perusing Pinterest for amazing interiors to add to my board. These will come in very handy this summer when I move from New York back to LA and will be furnishing an apartment somewhere out there. While I will do more detailed posts about specific decorating trends and themes, here is just a little overall inspo of some rooms that caught my eye. I love so many different styles, but I tend to prefer a room that is the perfect balance of all of them. For example, there is just the right formula, that you only know when you see it, of a fusion between mid-century/ industrial/ modern/ french/ and a touch of southwestern inspired decor. I prefer a dominantly neutral palette, infused with mixed metals, textures, and a small smattering of sophisticated prints here and there. To me, it is all of these elements coming together that creates the perfect room. So enjoy some of my picks of where I will likely look to when it comes time to decorate my new space, and hopefully you will get some ideas for you own!
